About Seren
Founded by a doctor who knew the feeling of being on her own
Dr Justicia Kyeremeh is a doctor and Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery at the University of Cambridge, working on kidney cancer research. Her path from clinical practice into academic research brought new questions, and new kinds of isolation.
Seren is a newly founded UK community interest company built around that experience, bringing women together across healthcare, social care, education, research, science and technology.
Why Seren exists
You can work in a team and still feel alone
When our founder moved from clinical practice into academic research, she found the path isolating. It could be hard to find someone to read an abstract, listen to a practice presentation or talk through an unfamiliar next step.
Seren began with a simple question: what if women had a community where these everyday forms of support were easier to find? That idea has grown into a place for friendship across different backgrounds, and room for both receiving help and offering it.

The Seren Futures Collective CIC is a community interest company limited by guarantee, registered in the United Kingdom under company number 17432594.
